Rodin and Roses

A special mention for two beautiful Paris museums that I had not previously visited.

Musee Rodin

Both the museum and the gardens are spectacular.  The Museum is housed in the sumptuous Hotel Biron which was Auguste Rodin's Paris townhouse in the early 1900s.  The collection holds his works, his documents, his letters and his private art collection.  To see so many of Rodin's works in one location was 'incroyable'.

The roses were in their blooming magnificence.  And the perfume!  The Thinker, beautifully placed in the rose garden;  The Kiss in a room overlooking the ornamental pond and avenues of trees.

We could hardly bring ourselves to leave.

The perfect place to sit and, well think.

I love this  museum

Musee National de L'Orangerie

Tucked away in a corner of the beautiful Jardin de Tuileries, this small museum is apparently the only place where you can see some of Claude Monet's huge collection of Water Lilies in natural daylight.  Walking into the large elliptical room took my breath away.

An added delight at the L'Orangerie is that the museum requests silence from all those entering.

Massive water lilies seen in natural daylight.

Different people see different things.  That's art.
